I can’t believe at the time of posting this, these two will be getting married in less than 24 hours!! I so loved their rainy Golden Ears engagement session from earlier this year. These two are so sweet and I can’t wait for their Chilliwack Golf Course wedding this May long!

This may have been one of my rainiest sessions yet! These two braved through it all – foregoing their umbrella the entire time! I really felt bad for Julia with the weather for their session. To be honest, I really don’t mind shooting in the rain but I can’t resist a golden hour/sunset for sessions and I KNEW that was important to her too. We had rescheduled once before due to stormy weather, and the day was looking if-y but still doable so we decided to risk it! Little did we know we were about to get completely DUMPED on. Julia & Tyler were both absolute troopers and had no hesitations about running around dancing in the rain. I loved their attitudes and getting to know them, but I have all my fingers crossed for a beautiful sunset on their wedding day for this beautiful bride. ☀️

Rainy Golden Ears Engagement Session

For Brides

I love photographing weddings in Langley, especially since it’s where I call home! After shooting weddings all over the Lower Mainland & far beyond since 2014, I’ve compiled my top 5 Langley wedding venues to share with you. Being based out of Langley myself, I love an excuse to be shooting weddings close to home but casting all biases aside – Langley has some pretty dang incredible venues! From wineries, farms, & golf courses, there’s something for everyone! From the sounds of it, there are also some pretty great new venues popping up over the next couple summers that I’m looking forward to exploring so I may revisit this post at a later date to add or revise!

In no particular order, here are my recommendations for top 5 Langley wedding venues…

Glass House Estate Winery | Langley Wedding Venue

Your ideal winery wedding venue. They offer a great ceremony location right in the heart of the rows of grapes in the winery, and I absolutely love their indoor reception space with the hanging vines. Their extended patio and grassy area is also fantastic for family photos and an alternate ceremony site and their staff is always superb and great to deal with. These guys are on our preferred venue vendors on the client-exclusive MKP Wedding Guide that all my couples get access to!

Redwoods Golf Course | Langley Wedding Venue:

Redwoods is a Langley CLASSIC. Their renovated wedding ceremony area is absolutely stunning and their course offers all-inclusive wedding day services for your planning ease. We always love getting to return to Redwoods and we know our clients are always in good hands with the team here.

Estate 248 | Aldergrove Wedding Venue:

I absolutely love Estate248’s Wedding Venue. It’s top of my list for preferred wedding venues in my MKP Wedding Guide. They are conveniently located right off Fraser Hwy between Aldergrove and Langley at the popular Poppy Golf Course. I personally love this venue for a multitude of reasons. Their staff are always great, accommodating and professional – no worries there. But their location is also fantastic. I’m a huge sucker for ceremonies under their large old tree on the lawn, but they also offer a rain-safe intimate barn feel alternative which is great for my winter couples. They have lots of room for multiple areas for your guests to roam, drink, play lawn games, dance & eat their hearts out. What I really love about this venue is that you’re all set for photography here. It offers multiple areas for photos, all of which are beautiful no matter the time of year.

Fort Langley Community Hall | Langley Wedding Venue:

Another Langley classic I just couldn’t leave out. When I moved to Langley, one of the largest images that would flash in my head when you said Langley or Fort Langley was this yellow community hall & Wendel’s. I love shooting around here during my sessions and the interior is just as classic and beautiful as the exterior that’s known to the area. No matter the time of year, you’re able to host a full day wedding here with ease as the space is large enough to accommodate the transition!

Your-Own-Backyard Wedding!! | Langley Backyard Wedding Photographer:

Need we say more? Nothing beats the intimacy & simplicity behind an at home backyard wedding.

I absolutely loved this set of engagement photos in Fort Langley! Jenn & Stuart are so sweet & I had the best time exploring Fort Langley with them & their pup Paco – *who will forever be known as Paco the Taco in my mind now (peep Paco’s bowtie down below) 🌮. Anytime a couple asks if they can bring their furbaby to their e-session, my response is always an immediate resounding ABSOLUTELY!! I have a golden retriever & cat myself and used to work in the pet industry so I always love an excuse to meet your furbaby! I usually recommend having a friend or family member tag along who can take them home so we can finish with the session – we usually will shoot with your furbaby for the first 15-20 minutes and then they get treats and nap time. 😉

These two went on their first date in Fort Langley (shout out to the beloved Wendel’s) & got engaged walking along the river a short stroll away. Having their engagement photos in Fort Langley just made sense. I can never resist the opportunity to bring your love story full circle in moments like this when we can. Jenn has the gentle calmness to her that puts you at ease and you can just immediately sense the kindness in her and in step Stuart’s eyes echo the same kindness & joy. I am so excited to witness these two tie the knot in less than two months now.
