If you’ve been dreaming of a wedding that’s relaxed, intentional, and surrounded by nature, The Greenhouse Venue in Abbotsford is one of the Fraser Valley’s best-kept secrets.
Perfectly suited for intimate weddings and elopements, this charming greenhouse offers a peaceful setting that feels tucked away from the busyness of everyday life. Filled with natural light, lush greenery, warm wood accents, and endless character, it’s the kind of venue that proves you don’t need hundreds of guests to create an unforgettable wedding day.
It’s a venue I always love returning to.
Not only have I photographed beautiful weddings here, but I’ve also hosted both my Spring & Christmas mini sessions at The Greenhouse over the years. Every visit reminds me why I love this space so much. It has such an intimate atmosphere, and despite its cozy size, it transforms beautifully with every season. Even in the colder months, the crackling wood-burning stove creates the warmest, most inviting setting, making it feel just as magical in winter as it does during the height of summer.
For Erin and Mark, it was the perfect backdrop for a celebration that reflected exactly who they are.
Their story began with a first date that neither of them wanted to end.
They met for a picnic at Crystal Falls, spending hours together talking long after the sun had gone down. Instead of calling it a night, they decided to keep the date going with a stop at a nearby brewery. Sometimes, you just know when you’ve met someone special.
Their engagement story is even sweeter. Well, more like stories…
Rather than one proposal, they each secretly planned one of their own.
Erin created an elaborate scavenger hunt throughout their home, inspired by one of their early dates. The final clue led Mark to a word scramble that revealed the question, “Mark, marry me?”- leaving him completely speechless.
Not long after, Mark surprised Erin during a hike to the summit of Burke Mountain, one of his favourite places, where he proposed with a ring of his own.
It feels incredibly fitting that two people who both wanted to be the one asking the question would choose a wedding day that felt so equally thoughtful and personal.
Their vision for the day embraced everything I love about intimate weddings.
Inspired by a relaxed garden party with touches of French countryside charm, their palette of soft whites, buttery yellows, pale blues, lavender tones, and fresh greenery complemented the greenhouse beautifully without ever overpowering its natural character.
One of my favourite parts of their timeline was the decision to keep the ceremony truly intimate before welcoming additional family and friends later for cocktail hour and dinner.
By sharing their vows surrounded only by their closest loved ones, Erin and Mark created space to slow down and be fully present with one another before transitioning into a relaxed evening of celebrating with everyone else. It’s a wonderful reminder that wedding timelines don’t have to follow tradition – they can be designed around what feels most meaningful to you.
That’s one of the reasons I love venues like The Greenhouse.
The space naturally encourages connection over production. Guests gather comfortably, conversations linger, and the entire day feels less rushed. Whether you’re exchanging vows beneath the greenery, enjoying cocktails in the garden, or sharing dinner together as the evening settles in, every part of the venue invites people to simply enjoy being together.
Looking through this gallery, I hope you’ll notice that feeling woven throughout the day. The quiet moments after the ceremony. The excitement of welcoming loved ones for the celebration ahead. The laughter, heartfelt toasts, and relaxed pace that allowed everyone to truly soak in the experience.
It was simple in all the best ways.
Thoughtful.
Joyful.
And a beautiful reminder that an intimate wedding can feel every bit as meaningful and unforgettable as a larger celebration.
If you’re searching for an intimate wedding venue in the Fraser Valley, The Greenhouse venue is a truly special place. Whether you’re planning an elopement, a micro wedding, or a small gathering with your closest family and friends, it offers a warm, welcoming space that feels personal in every season.
