Hey, I'm Meg, welcome to my little corner of the cybersphere!
I'm a Fraser Valley wedding & lifestyle photographer (est. 2014) based in Langley, just west of Vancouver BC.
Take a look around & I'd love to connect with you soon!
Last week, I had the immense privilege of photographing one of my dear friends, Emily. Emily is actually a photographer and business owner herself and I always love following her work, especially all of her sport photography – she has such an eye for it. Her business name in and of itself is so unique and special – DeerFeat Photography based just outside of Calgary AB (Brooks to be more specific!), and holds such a significance to her, you’ll have to make sure you get her to tell you about it!
We had just gotten off the airplane from a photography conference in Arizona, and decided there was no better time than the present to do a mini portrait session for her. I really couldn’t believe it’s one of the first times for Emily to be in front of the camera. Not only did she rock it, she looked as stunning as ever the entire time! And of course (as you’ll see in a bit below) we HAD to dance it out during the session! I love this girl and had such an awesome time down in the states with her! Can’t wait for more adventures together. .
black & white or colour?! I can’t choose! “I whip my hair back and forth…”
Mid photoshoot dance sesh?! That’s a must!
Seriously, how beautiful is Emily?
As some of you may know, I spent this last summer second shooting as much as possible. One of the incredibly talented photographers I spent a lot of my time with was the ever-stunning Hannah of Hannah Cummins Photography. Â With the summer wedding season winding down, Hannah and I found ourselves itching to get behind the camera again and so we started scheming. Soon enough, we had a portrait session exchange worked out, locations picked, and outfits….. not a clue, I went through my entire closet and could hardly find a thing to wear. I show up to the shoot to find Hannah looking completely gorgeous in her outfits, and she killed it the entire time (while I fumbled awkwardly when it was my turn in front of the camera!)! By the end of the session, I was wholeheartedly convinced that Hannah HAD to have done some sort of modelling a past life or something, she’s got that smoulder down!
As photographers, it can be hard to get in front of the camera (both to find the nerve to do it, and to find someone we trust taking OUR picture… we can be kind of picky, go figure..) so I was so thrilled to be able to do this for Hannah after she spent the whole summer putting up with my awkwardness, sassy comebacks and ridiculous shenanigans. Thanks for an awesome season girl!
I am absolutely loving all of these fabulous mini sessions this fall! The weather has been fantastic (other than a little blip on the map last weekend), the sun is warm, and the fall colours have just started to show off!
Last week, (after a quick reschedule thanks to the rain!) the Penner’s and I met down at Island 22 in Chilliwack for their family mini session! I love this family – not only are they beautiful inside & out but they are also dear friends, which makes it even more of a privilege to be able to capture these moments for them. Erika & Jared’s girls are full of personality and energy, and are simply adorable! Upon arriving at Island 22, Alexa excitedly hopped out of their SUV, ran over to me and presented me with a picture she drew for me which warmed my heart so much. These girls are going to be heart breakers one day, Jared – better get the gun ready now 😉
You can find their family session from last year by clicking here.
When Koren contacted me a couple months back regarding an extended family session, I was instantly excited! Not only do I absolutely love working with children, but having the opportunity to capture lasting memories of their reunion with Grandpa + Grandma is such an honour.
Karen suggested we meet at Sardis Park in the heart of Chilliwack. Sardis Park is absolutely beautiful, but as most of you know, BC has had an EXTREMELY dry summer – practically half of BC is on fire! As a result, even in Chilliwack, we have lost our beautiful lush green grasses, and the beautiful weeping willow trees that are scattered around the park were hurting for some rain. Lucky for us, not two days before our session we were blessed with some rain finally!! You could practically feel the trees and ground sucking up the water and coming back to life!
Thank you to the entire extended Palmer family for having me be a part of this day!
