I’m excited to introduce a new series on the blog – Travel Tuesdays! I was fortunate enough to grow up tagging along with my parents on trips around the world and quickly developed a love for being on the road. I live to be able to capture the world around me – the smells, the tastes, the look, the people & the feel of a new place, and now I want to share that experience with you.

First up is L.A. – it was a brief afternoon spent in the city of stars and was worth every single second of it. Who here has been to L.A. and what was your favourite part of it to see?! Was it Disneyland? The Griffith Observatory? Walking Hollywood Boulevard or strolling the beach by the Santa Monica Pier?

Moving is tough. Moving homes, moving on, moving forward. Anytime we move, it forces us to break out of our comfort zone, learn from our mistakes to better ourselves and continue stepping forward. That is just what this last year brought to me. A challenge I willingly accepted. Change can be brought to our lives for a reason, and if we wholly embrace it we will be that much better off for it on the other end. For me, it also offered me a chance at a new beginning.

That being said, I am so excited to officially announce my relocation! It’s true – I’ve moved! I am thrilled to say I am now based out of the beautiful Langley, BC after moving this last fall.

Since graduating high school, my life has been in a constant state of upheaval and with that brought a lot of different moves for me (from Kelowna, to Abbotsford, to Chilliwack). Since moving from the Okanagan & closing that door I’ve always looked to Langley as a place that felt like home. I am so happy to be making this place my real home and have loved getting settled into the city over the last few months.

I will still be servicing all of my old clients and available for weddings & portraits from Vancouver to Kelowna as well as available for travel worldwide. I feel as at home on the road as I do in my cozy little suite in Langley and I’d love to come to you to help capture life’s memories for you!

because it’s never too late for a “Best of..” blog! We may be almost 2 months (can you believe it?!) into 2017 already but in my mind it’s always better late than never.

2016 was a whirlwind of a year filled to the brim with big life changes, both expected and unexpected, but all for the best (you can expect a new blog post soon detailing one of those exciting changes!). After taking a few months away to regroup & spend some quality time with friends + family, I’m excited to be getting back on track again! You’ll notice over the coming weeks and months a different tone being set here as I transition Meg Kristina Photography into a more personalized experience. I want to get to know you, & I want you to get to know me! Let’s explore this crazy journey called life together, and what a better way to start than to look back on the highlights that this last year brought!

This is a collection of some of my favourite moments from the 2016 season (mostly weddings but you’ll see the odd portrait sneaking in there as well!)

Katie + James were married on a beautiful sunny day back in August when I had the privilege of second shooting for the lovely Stephanie Steiner Photography.

Their wedding was held at Triple Swaan Nursery and they could not have picked a more stunning setting for their day. As I arrived and met up with the guys, you could feel the excitement of the day in the air. As the time of the ceremony grew closer, the anxious anticipation was ever-present – James was counting down the minutes until his bride would be walking towards him. The minute James saw Katie making her way across the grass, down the isle & towards her groom, you could see a sense of calm come over both of them. They locked eyes, and they knew that they were right where they were supposed to be.
After the ceremony, we whisked Katie + James, along with their awesome bridal party, and headed out to capture some portraits for them before my time was up. . They did not disappoint! What a great crew to work with, and this couple could seriously be models if they decided to.

A big congratulations you two, thank you for having me be a part of capturing your day.
