Hey, I'm Meg, welcome to my little corner of the cybersphere!
I'm a Fraser Valley wedding & lifestyle photographer (est. 2014) based in Langley, just west of Vancouver BC.
Take a look around & I'd love to connect with you soon!
I can never resist a good golden hour at Pitt Lake for a session. The sun dips ever so perfectly behind the mountains, the clouds can be so lovely & dramatic and between the mountains, fields and narrow long winding road to/from the location it’s easy to see why this is a local favourite session spot. It can get busy, like REALLY busy – the nicer the evening, no matter the time of year, the higher the likelihood that you may end up shooting almost elbow to elbow with other photographers. I strive to stay away from these busy bustling evenings where a quiet space is hard to find because, to me, the most important part of an engagement session is providing a safe space. A safe space at MKP is designed to give you room to be comfortable to be yourself, to explore the space & world around us, and to be bold adventurous and authentically ourselves during the session. I often find on the busy busy evenings at Pitt Lake this safe space is difficult to hold & protect for my couples and I never want that energy to take away from the excitement & moment of YOUR engagement session! Shooting on the off-season times can be helpful as well as opting for a sunrise session! I have become a big fan of sunrise sessions lately, and I PROMISE #1 to greet you with a coffee, & #2 it will absolutely be worth the early wake-up call! T
These two were such troopers on a busy night for their Pitt Lake engagement session. I absolutely was dying over the black & white edits from their session, I couldn’t get enough! I just absolutely got *LOST* in Amina’s eyes, they really popped while I was editing so please enjoy a few more than I would usually share! A&F were so sweet throughout their entire session, we had lots of laughs and made the most of our amazing location at Pitt Lake! After a long wait, these two have a lot to celebrate at their summer wedding after multiple postponements due to the pandemic. I am so happy these two are officially able to tie the knot & party with all their friends & family! I cannot wait for their August wedding; it’ll be here before we know it!

This Rocky Mountain engagement session may have been one of the absolute HIGHLIGHTS of my year last year. I purposefully had quietly tiptoed back into the wedding industry. With a slow start last summer after an almost 2 year hiatus (due equally in part to creative fatigue & burnout coupled with the unexpected onset shortly thereafter of a global pandemic) there was no telling what the upcoming 2021 season would look like. But this session, this TRIP in fact, was one I had been anxiously anticipating from the beginning…
I LOVE these two!!! They remind me of my partner & myself, we all have very similar dynamics and get along as if we’d known each other our whole lives. When Samantha & I met, we were in paradise – LITERALLY! We were lucky enough to meet down in Cabo, Mexico where Sam was attending Angie + Dan’s destination beach wedding which I was coincidently photographing!! Sam & I hit it off right from the start. I adored her from the very first moment we met and it felt like a kismet friendship – we have so many similarities we sometimes joked we felt like we’re the same person! I love when you find a kindred spirit like Samantha. Dan truly is her equal in that sense, these two are SOOO caring, generous and incredibly genuine people. I’ll save their real love story for their wedding blog because I really have to gush about how amazing souls these two are.
As I met Samantha at a wedding in Mexico, it meant we weren’t necessarily from the same town (or province!). Samantha (& Dan who was back home) was from Calgary, myself from Langley, BC. Yet this did not deter S+D one bit from flying me out for their Rocky Mountain engagement session & party weekend over the Labour Day long weekend last September (2021! I can’t even keep track of time it’s flying so fast these days!!). These two treated me like family. I felt absolutely spoiled after an amazing weekend with them. We started off our weekend adventure on the Friday by Sam picking me up at the airport & us zipping to their house to meet Dan, get ready and load up the pups & gear!! Soon enough, we were off & into the mountains outside of Calgary with the pups along for the ride.
First Stop: We knew we had to hit up the area around Bragg Creek. Elbow Falls is a well known popular local spot but as you can see, with Elbow River winding its way through the park combined with the colourful pallets of fall in the mountain valley, there is a reason this is a favourite spot for many. We took advantage of the open space & quiet day at the Falls to bring their beloved fur babies Cleo & Athena along for some family photos. I love getting the chance to incorporate your dogs into engagement sessions when we have the opportunity. After we had some fun chasing the pups around, some friends came to take them home while we continued on our adventure…
Second Stop: Was a location that may or may not have required a little bit of trespassing, may or may not have been a film location for an Academy Award winning movie, and is most definitely a top secret super special location that we’re gonna keep to ourselves. But it was also the most EPIC location and probably tops my list of favourites so far in Canada. We broke through the trees running, hitting the edge of the ridge and into the open field before the steep drop of a cliff just as the sun hit the peak of the neighbouring mountain. It truly was an amazing sight.
After our epic sunset for S+D’s Rocky Mountain engagement session, we immediately decided drinks + food were in order, and headed off to an amazing dinner at the nearby The Bav + Tav and OMG it was incredible. I have literally spent the last 5 months craving their schnitzel & spätzle – it was THAT good. These two truly treated me to an amazing weekend – it’s hard to believe this was just the first few hours. We had an awesome time exploring for their Rocky Mountain engagement, and I can’t wait to be back in Alberta again for their wedding this year!

I can’t tell how much I loved getting to photograph Tanner & Rebecca’s wedding with my #1 girl – Hannah Cummins. We both work pretty much exclusively with one another during wedding season and having COVID halt big weddings that require a team, we really have missed each other.
Estate 248, located at Poppy Estate Golf Course, is one of my favourite wedding venues in Langley, I love shooting here as much as possible each year. This venue really has it all in one great location for your day. They offer multiple GORGEOUS ceremony locations which INCLUDES rain coverage (bonus!!). Their indoor barn facility offers perfect cover to keep you and your guests dry on the wettest of days which is great for off-season weddings, but my favourite ceremony location they offer is outside under their big huge old tree. It really is fantastic and offers shade on a sunny summer day. The land & venue itself offers you the perfect backdrop for wedding portraits and even their bridal suite for getting ready the morning-of will have you photo-ready from the start. They have a fantastic covered outdoor open concept tent for your reception (again – rain coverage – BONUS!), a beautiful dance floor patio & bar, and awesome catering/buffet set up in it’s own area. The grounds offer lots of room for your guests to roam during cocktail hour, or to play some yard games during the reception, and the team here is always great to work with!

Where do I begin with this Lighthouse Park Engagement session?!?? I may have *slightly* over-delivered when it came to the amount of images for J&H’s gallery, but to be honest I really couldn’t help it!!! We had the BEST time exploring Lighthouse Park in West Vancouver for their engagement session and got such a wide variety of images & settings within the park for them. We had lots of time together and I LOVED getting to know them better. While it may have been my first time meeting Harman, Jessica and I met over 5 YEARS ago in 2016 at her best friend Maria’s wedding I shot in Manning Park (have I *really* been doing this that long already?! I can’t believe I’ve been officially in business as MKP since 2014!!) Maria & Brad’s wedding day was the most perfect intimate mountain top wedding held up at Manning Provincial Park and I’ve now been lucky enough to photograph multiple weddings for some of the bridal party as well as other wedding guests & friends of these two!
On M&B’s wedding day, as a photographer I’m naturally an observer and honestly Jessica stood out to me even from getting ready photos that morning. She just exuded this happiness and joy for her friend Maria on her wedding day, it was so genuine and you could just tell that she was an amazing dedicated loyal friend. Naturally when J reached out to me a few months ago about her OWN wedding next year, I was over the moon to reconnect with her and meet her fiancé! I’ll save more about these two and how sweet of a couple they are for their wedding next summer, because really… Their engagement session images just completely steal the show!
J&H quickly decided upon a Lighthouse Park engagement session location and it’s not hard to see why. I absolutely love all that this park has to offer for an e-session. You could really pick one spot and stay there for the entire time. Every outlook, beach & forested path is stunning and I could shoot all day long there. For this Lighthouse Park engagement, we started our time together walking down the pathways before heading to the beach! On a Sunday in August, you can never expect complete privacy as the park gets packed especially around sunset but we were able to find our own little corners we could tuck away in.
We explored for almost 2 hours and got to know each other all more as J filled me in on how wedding planning was going – time really flew by! I’m so grateful these two chose me to capture their day, and they were absolute troopers being up for all my crazy ideas for their Lighthouse Park engagement session, including splashing around in the ocean.
P.S. How freaking gorgeous is Jessica?!? I absolutely loveddddd her dress!
