Hey, I'm Meg, welcome to my little corner of the cybersphere!
I'm a Fraser Valley wedding & lifestyle photographer (est. 2014) based in Langley, just west of Vancouver BC.
Take a look around & I'd love to connect with you soon!
“A girl should be two things:
Classy and Fabulous“
– Coco Chanel
These girls were definitely both classy and fabulous – and gorgeous too! When Robin put the word out there that she was looking for a photographer to capture some vintage dresses, I was thrilled to get to be a part of this project.
Robin’s mom has been making dresses for years, including making Robin’s own wedding dress. She’s convinced her mom to pursue this and see where it could go, and you can see why, the dresses are absolutely gorgeous and the girls looked fabulous in them!
I can’t wait to see more from this up and coming vintage fashion line in the Fraser Valley – support local!
Where would a girl be without her best friends? 🙂 It was a pleasure to work with you beautiful ladies!
Yesterday, I had a blast with Robin, Sheryl & Alicia. These girls looked gorgeous and I couldn’t resist a sneak peek. They’ll be on the blog early next week!
I am so excited to welcome our first Reveal baby into the world! Baby Linden is here and boy is he precious! I could not have asked for a better little subject to photograph. I almost couldn’t handle the cuteness from this session. Have I mentioned lately how amazing this family is?
I think the most touching moment of the session came down to Addison. Addison quietly padded up the stairs, eager for her chance to hold Baby Linden, and as babies do so often, he stirred and started crying. Did this faze Addy at all? No, instead she softly sang Linden a lullaby and he drifted back to sleep. It was a moment that was so beautiful it brought tears to my eyes.
Beautiful big sister Keira also got a chance to softly sing to Linden as he fell deeper into sleep.
Baby Linden, you are one treasured piece of this family. Your siblings and parents absolutely adore you. You are one lucky boy and I can’t wait to see you grow up!
Haha – Linden says: this is my “I just pooped” face and I feel really good about it.
Want to see more from their past sessions? You can find part one of Ashley’s maternity session here or head on over to check out their family session here!
In case you missed it on Tuesday, my cousins were up on the blog for a beautiful maternity/family session, be sure to check it out here.
One of my goals for the new year is to start blogging on a more regular basis. Years ago, I loved to write. Stories, blogs, poems, essays (call me crazy but essays were my favourite). Writing is like any other skill, if you let it go, it takes a while for it to come back. You have to work on it. So that’s what I’m doing.
Today’s blog post is a fun one – I’m showing you a before/after edit from my latest session.
Now don’t let anyone, especially me, tell you how much of an editing expert I am. I am awful at it, I’m brand new to it, and I’m entirely self-taught – yikes! Most photographers use Adobe programs for their editing software (i.e. Lightroom, Photoshop). These photos were edited using Apple’s software Aperture. I am planning on switching my post-processing over to the Adobe Creative Suite very soon though. I love this before/after edit example because it really shows you the importance of post processing. I loved this shot the minute I captured it in camera but I lost the pop of colour that I was wanting. To help it not look dull and really pop, I barely boosted the contrast, and boosted the vibrancy almost to the max. After that, all I had to do was adjust the highlights and white balance and you’re left with what you see here. Sometimes edits are quick and painless, other times they are time consuming and draining. This one was so much fun because I had the base for what I needed and all I had to do was a few quick changes and we were ready to go!
I hope you’ve enjoyed the blog post! If you have any ideas, suggestions or questions for future posts, comment or send us an email, we’ll be sure to respond.. It may even make an appearance here! : )
