It was one of the last weddings of the 2015 season and we could not have dreamt of a more picturesque day for Stephanie + Kevin’s vows. For the end of September, the day was unseasonably warm and the sun was shining brightly in the sky – setting the celebratory mood of the day.
I arrived at Kevin’s parents home in Chilliwack to capture the guys getting ready & right off the bat a special little guy absolutely stole the show (& maybe my heart!!). While it was difficult to get my camera lens off of him (look at those cheeks!) we had a great time with Kevin + his groomsmen before the ceremony.
Watching Stephanie walk down the pathway towards Kevin, sheltered from the sun by the shade of the trees, she was absolutely radiant. Typically I can’t resist turning around to watch the groom’s reaction as the bride walks down the aisle but Stephanie was so stunning not a single guest, nor her groom, could take their eyes off of her.
What followed was an amazing day filled with personal touches, lots of laughs, a few tears, and endless smiles. From a field in Chilliwack, to their portraits & incredible reception at Harrison Hot Springs – it was an honour to watch them start this marriage together with their friends & family by their sides.
Second shooter for: Bree Mader Photography – be sure to check out some of her amazing work!! She recently revamped her website and oh boy is it looking awesome!
I was so thrilled when Breanna asked me to second shoot this wedding with her – I always love being able to work with other photographers & it’s a huge compliment to know that a primary photographer trusts you to have their back.
Congratulations Stephanie + Kevin – you two make a wonderful couple and we wish you all the best in the years to come! <3

Last weekend, I had Linden in the studio in Chilliwack for his ONE year birthday Cake Smash session!! It was so great to see how much Linden has grown since I saw him last after photographing his newborn session this time last year (you can find that blog post here).
It was also a perfect chance to catch up with his older siblings that I know from their family session as well as newly engaged parents Ashley & Jason! Ashley excitedly filled me in on some of their wedding planning details as the kids all got settled in and we began Linden’s session..
The look on Linden’s face when he first tried the icing from the cake was pure magic, although he eventually decided he wasn’t quite so thrilled with this whole being messy thing.
We had a lot of fun and it was great to see everyone again!
Happy 1st Birthday Linden!!

Chelsea + Stephen are the amazingly talented people behind TreCreative based out of California – if you haven’t already seen their work, you should definitely go check it out! They were our incredibly patient (and stunning) models for our styled shoot led by Andrew Smith Photography this past winter down in Arizona! Not only were they flawless in front of over a dozen different photographers, but most importantly, they didn’t let it get in the way of being lost in their own quiet moments together. The love they hold for each other was clearly evident throughout our time with them and we all walked away from the session feeling more inspired than when we had walked in (if that was even possible!).
{Confession:…It’s been over a couple of months since we did this shoot together, and I still can’t stop staring at Chelsea’s amazing dress! }
First shot of the day, this shoot was led by Andrew Smith (seen below) as a part of the ShowIt United 2015 conference.
As photographers, we try not to get in each other’s way at styled shoots like this but everyone takes their turn bumping elbows and equipment against each other – it’s pretty inevitable when there are almost 20 photographers trying to get their shot. Sometimes getting in each other’s ways becomes a pretty decent behind the scenes shot, hey Andrew? 😉

We had a great group led by an amazing kind photographer – so grateful for my Showiteer community and can’t wait for next year’s conference! (see if you can spot me in the group below!)
