This Burnaby Lake Rowing Pavilion Wedding was the most perfect warm sunny mid-summer day. These two lovebirds have been together through the ups and downs of both life & the recent pandemic. They deserved the best wedding celebration possible. After being together for over 10 years after meeting at work, these two have stood the test of time and shown true commitment and loyalty to growing in life together. They faced multiple postponements of their wedding date with ever-changing restrictions, so it was the celebration of the summer for these two to come together and finally make it official! Catch up on their engagement session at Pitt Lake over here.

When I asked them what is their dream for their future together, they said it was to travel the world and build a family together. I am so excited for them to do just that! It was an absolute pleasure & privilege to capture this day for these two amazing people.

More familiar faces on the blog tonight with this sweet family maternity session in Burnaby from back in the fall! If these two look familiar to you, it’s because I had the privilege of capturing B&M’s engagement photos and wedding at Manning Park over 6 years ago now! I love these two. We had so much fun during their wedding day with portraits! I’ve been lucky to bump into them over the years at friends’ weddings that I ended up photographing. Fast forward 6 years from 2016 to this last summer at another wedding, we were all brought together once again. I was elated to hear that their family was growing from 3 to 4 soon and we quickly arranged for a session for them.

After I delivered the gallery for their family maternity session to these two, B was kind enough to leave an awesome review on Google for our business page. As a small business owner being primarily referral based, it means the WORLD when clients leave us a positive review. I couldn’t help but share his kind words here:

We have two familiar faces on The Blog today! If you are in any way familiar with us here at MKP, Hannah & Tyler will look like old friends to you by now! For those of you who aren’t caught up, Hannah & I have worked together in the photography industry for over 7 years now. We both take turns shooting for each other under our own business names, and is someone I’m so grateful to have in my life.

Over the years, I’ve witnessed the start of H&T’s relationship, to capturing their engagement session, wedding, and now their maternity session!! EEEEE! I am so excited for these two on this next stage in life. Hannah has always been great with kids (to say the least, she is truly SOO good with the little ones) so I am so happy to see her in this chapter. Ironically enough, their little one made their arrival into the world on the same September day that I delivered this gallery to them. Talk about cutting it close!

I can’t believe the day is here that I get to share Sam & Dan’s beautiful Bragg Creek wedding day with you. I love these two – both as a couple and as dear friends to me now. They are the best kind of people and I am so grateful I was able to be there for their special day.

The day prior I had flown into Calgary, picked up my car rental, checked in with S&D and got settled into the hotel. I excitedly prepped my gear for the following day. We had been planning and anticipating this weekend for what felt like years (it was!)! The following morning was wedding day. I excitedly awoke and ran to look out the window to see wildfire smoke I thought I had left behind in BC. What was a clear forecast just hours ago was now covered in a layer of thick smoke. While I was a little disappointed for S&D as it would limit mountain views on their day, it also creates some beautiful warm hues for the day so we couldn’t be mad!

I quickly loaded up the car to head out from Calgary to their getting ready location at Folk Tree Lodge. It was such a perfect intimate warm venue for them to stay at in the days surrounding the wedding. After getting ready was complete, we went straight into their first look. We snuck some quick portraits on the grounds before we headed back to a familiar spot for more photos. Returning to stop #1 from their engagement session in September the year prior, it felt so good to be back. It was so interesting to see how much of a difference some smoke & autumn colours can make! If you haven’t already, you really should check out their epic Rocky Mountain engagement session from last year!

After we were done, we headed over to Easter Seals Alberta’s Camp Horizon which was the venue of choice to host the wedding day festivities. Sam has meticulously planned, DIY’d and decorated their entire wedding day. Her creativity and attention to detail showed through and absolutely paid off! I loved seeing her touches in everything throughout their whole day.

After their wedding ceremony, they hosted a cocktail hour for their guests while family photos were taken prior to their reception starting. Their reception felt so intimate and you could feel the love from everyone there for these two! Sam & Dan are so similar to me – we’re all kindred spirits. We love the same things and that rings true especially when we’re talking about our dogs and our love of food. Both of these aspects were strongly incorporated into their wedding day. The food was in the form of an amazing cocktail hour and incredible dinner buffet from their caterers. And their pups were on hand all day, decked out in fashionable attire, apart of the bridal party and roaming the grounds of the reception. Just another reason why I love these guys so much.

I’m so grateful I was able to fly out to Calgary and be a part of their celebration. It meant the world to me getting to hug these two congratulations on their wedding day and I wish them an absolutely amazing future together! I can’t wait to see them again soon. ♥️
