San Francisco – oh, how you stole my heart. I’ve always wanted to visit this city – the Golden Gate Bridge was one of many destinations on my bucket list, but I never could’ve imagined how pleasantly surprised I would be by the beauty this city has to offer. The artistic community found within San Francisco shines through in every corner of the city. The architecture of the buildings, the people milling about, art galleries abound and even street signs & store fronts are uniquely picturesque in their own right. I fell in love with the atmosphere found here – the energy & creativity buzzing in the streets could be felt everywhere and I only wish I could have explored even more. One late evening and morning spent roaming the streets & piers were not even close to enough time to do this beautiful city justice.

I had originally planned for today’s Travel Tuesday blog to be of my visit to San Francisco, California. It was my favourite stop along the way of the West Coast road trip (30 hours on the road – call us crazy but it was worth it!) and for that reason alone I decided it was best to save it for another day. You can look forward to that one up on the blog in the coming weeks.
Until then, I wanted to share my brief time at Haystack Rock – probably my most anticipated stop on the road. I’ve had a couple opportunities in the past to visit Oregon but for a sad variety of reasons, life & situations got in the way. It made this short visit that much more exciting – to finally get to be here was all that I could’ve asked for!
It was a hazy morning spent in Cannon Beach, Oregon. Having arrived to darkness in the middle of the night just hours prior, I excitedly awoke eager to explore, and swung the door open to be greeted by a thick fog engulfing not only the beach but the entire picturesque town surrounding it. It was to be expected I suppose.. I was, after all, in the heart of the West Coast experiencing the foggy weather that it is known best for. If anything, it only enhanced the beauty of the coast.
I practically ran down to the beach that morning, with only a couple of short hours of exploring time before it was time to be back on the road. Even through the thick fog, I could see the outline of Haystack Rock looming in the distance. It really is a sight to be seen. Who here has been to Oregon?! What was your favourite place to stop and explore there?? Tell me in the comments below!

I’m excited to introduce a new series on the blog – Travel Tuesdays! I was fortunate enough to grow up tagging along with my parents on trips around the world and quickly developed a love for being on the road. I live to be able to capture the world around me – the smells, the tastes, the look, the people & the feel of a new place, and now I want to share that experience with you.

First up is L.A. – it was a brief afternoon spent in the city of stars and was worth every single second of it. Who here has been to L.A. and what was your favourite part of it to see?! Was it Disneyland? The Griffith Observatory? Walking Hollywood Boulevard or strolling the beach by the Santa Monica Pier?

Moving is tough. Moving homes, moving on, moving forward. Anytime we move, it forces us to break out of our comfort zone, learn from our mistakes to better ourselves and continue stepping forward. That is just what this last year brought to me. A challenge I willingly accepted. Change can be brought to our lives for a reason, and if we wholly embrace it we will be that much better off for it on the other end. For me, it also offered me a chance at a new beginning.

That being said, I am so excited to officially announce my relocation! It’s true – I’ve moved! I am thrilled to say I am now based out of the beautiful Langley, BC after moving this last fall.

Since graduating high school, my life has been in a constant state of upheaval and with that brought a lot of different moves for me (from Kelowna, to Abbotsford, to Chilliwack). Since moving from the Okanagan & closing that door I’ve always looked to Langley as a place that felt like home. I am so happy to be making this place my real home and have loved getting settled into the city over the last few months.

I will still be servicing all of my old clients and available for weddings & portraits from Vancouver to Kelowna as well as available for travel worldwide. I feel as at home on the road as I do in my cozy little suite in Langley and I’d love to come to you to help capture life’s memories for you!
