Proposal Story
I couldn’t love these two more! When N contacted me a few months back about planning a Science World proposal, I couldn’t have been more excited. We quickly arranged a secret coffee meeting with S unaware and plotted out the perfect Sunday date outing for them. They started their afternoon with lunch & drinks nearby at Tap & Barrel in Olympic Village before taking a wander down the boardwalk towards Science World. It was there, at a little secluded area of the path, that we had carefully planned they would stop for a moment…
They had the most beautiful engagement. As soon as I met S after the proposal, you could just feel how beautiful of a person inside and out she was. She radiated warmth kindness and of course a little shock and surprise at the moment! I am so so thrilled for these two as they plan their wedding celebration for next year. They are some of the sweetest people around and I loved not only being able to capture this for them but getting to know them as individuals as well. I wish you two all the best in the years to come!

Booking for 2020 Weddings
It was the weekend before Valentine’s Day and Taylor & Chelsie had made their way up from Central Washington to downtown Vancouver, the heart of BC’s west coast, for a quick romantic getaway. The sun was out but so was the wind and so, as these two walked along the seawall encompassing downtown, they stopped in at a little coffee shop to warm up before continuing on their way.
The Proposal
Once they arrived at the beach, the cold breeze off the ocean picked up and Chelsie teetered on the edge of the beach, trying to hide, sheltered from the wind amongst the trees. She couldn’t understand why Taylor was so insistent on venturing just a little bit further down the beach. Soon they stopped their stroll, overlooking the ocean – a perfect photo op… Taylor bent down to her bag to grab the camera as Chelsie waited ready for the shutter to snap on the camera. Instead, Taylor emerged from the bag with not a camera snapping memories but a little black box, snapping open, creating its own unique forever memory. Taylor fell to one knee, the box slowly opening, & Chelsie’s face broke into the biggest smile as Taylor’s burst into excited laughter. This was not going to be a getaway they would soon forget.
Reflection
I had the time of my life capturing this proposal for these two lovebirds. Taylor & Chelsie met years ago in a bar where Chelsie was working in Washington. Taylor was there with friends and from the instant, Chelsie saw her, she could not look away. No matter what she did, she couldn’t shake the thought of this gorgeous blonde from her mind. The rest is history as they say & it was such a pleasure helping to document these two taking the next step forward in their relationship. A big congratulations again Taylor & Chelsie!!

I absolutely loved photographing this proposal at Glow Langley this past December. It was the perfect holiday evening, with a crisp coolness in the air, as I arrived at the popular light garden exhibit that has taken Vancouver by storm this last winter. I was met by a huge crowd of Sunny & Justine’s loved one – friends, family, cousins, and their three children holding a sign up for Justine to see. It was bustling with activity and excitement already inside as we waited for Sunny to lead Justine around the corner to where everyone waited for her. As they approached, the crowd parted ways down leading to the centre of the large red ornament where her children and their banner awaited. Justine was already taken back, trying to grasp what exactly was happening as she read the words on the sign that would change her life.. “Mommy, will you marry Daddy?”

As much as I love summer, and trust me do I EVER love summer – it’s my favourite season hands down, there’s something so unique & refreshing about the arrival of fall. The crisp freshness in the air, the leaves changing colour to a golden hue, and yes, I’ll admit, those pumpkin spice lattes get me every time!
To celebrate the arrival of September, I’m throwing it back (& it’s not even Thursday!) to Misty & Cole’s engagement session at Deer Lake Park a couple of years back. I always love revisiting old sessions & weddings of mine, and this year my editing has taken a giant leap forward. Having made such progress in editing, my photos have a different look to them & so I decided to give some of my fav’s from Misty & Cole’s engagement a revamp & little update.
