Hey, I'm Meg, welcome to my little corner of the cybersphere!
I'm a Fraser Valley wedding & lifestyle photographer (est. 2014) based in Langley, just west of Vancouver BC.
Take a look around & I'd love to connect with you soon!
I absolutely loved this set of engagement photos in Fort Langley! Jenn & Stuart are so sweet & I had the best time exploring Fort Langley with them & their pup Paco – *who will forever be known as Paco the Taco in my mind now (peep Paco’s bowtie down below) 🌮. Anytime a couple asks if they can bring their furbaby to their e-session, my response is always an immediate resounding ABSOLUTELY!! I have a golden retriever & cat myself and used to work in the pet industry so I always love an excuse to meet your furbaby! I usually recommend having a friend or family member tag along who can take them home so we can finish with the session – we usually will shoot with your furbaby for the first 15-20 minutes and then they get treats and nap time. 😉
These two went on their first date in Fort Langley (shout out to the beloved Wendel’s) & got engaged walking along the river a short stroll away. Having their engagement photos in Fort Langley just made sense. I can never resist the opportunity to bring your love story full circle in moments like this when we can. Jenn has the gentle calmness to her that puts you at ease and you can just immediately sense the kindness in her and in step Stuart’s eyes echo the same kindness & joy. I am so excited to witness these two tie the knot in less than two months now.

Paul & Alana are so cute together. From the start, I was so excited for their Redwoods Golf Course Wedding. They both have sweet & very kind personalities mixed with their love of all things “nerd” like Marvel movies & comics – which I for one think makes them perfect – both as clients, people and for each other! I fell in love with these two right from our first consult. Their love for Marvel extended into them hiding some Easter Eggs for their guests to find on their wedding day – I’ve included some of their Marvel/movie-style Easter Eggs here in the blog – see if you can find them all!
Their day couldn’t have been more beautiful. Held at the always stunning Redwoods Golf, the sun was casting a warm golden glow on their day and everything went off without a hitch!
The most amusing part of the day (aside from the groomsmens’ antics) was probably the moment a cell phone rang right in the middle of vows during the ceremony. Funny enough, we would come to find that cell phone ring was coming from the GROOM’S POCKET – oh Paul haha! Both him and Alana took it like champs but I’m sure he’ll still be reminded in jest about that one by all who attended for a few years to come. 😉
Also can we please talk about the most COMEDIC bridesmaid moment during sunset portraits?! Let’s just say our romantic golden hour session got crashed & photobombed haha! It was too funny.
But for all the moments of amusement and laughs, there were equal touching moments that made both me & my second shooter Hannah tear up at. It’s beyond evident. These two were made for each other. I’m so happy for them that they found each other and can continue forward in building their family & life together. I wish you & your family all the best.

I LOVE Fort Langley! The historic buildings, bookstores (like Wendell’s), amazing bakeries & bistros, the Pub and more make it the perfect spot to spend a free morning or afternoon exploring for your engagement photographs! One of my favourite parts about living here (though I live on the other side of town) is being so close to the Village down by the river. That’s why I am so in love with any opportunity to capture a Fort Langley Sunset Engagement.
Last winter, when I met Colleen & Dominic, I remember thinking just how sweet & kind Colleen was. Along with Dominic’s sarcastic sense of humour (raise your hand if you’re sarcastic like me!), these two really seem to balance each other out and compliment one another. I’m so excited to photograph their upcoming autumn wedding at Morgan Creek Golf Course!
When it came time to planning their engagement session, we had initially been hoping for Stanley Park. But planning a session in late winter in the Lower Mainland can sometimes be easier said than done! Many times from January-April, sessions tend to get rescheduled if the weather really isn’t behaving, especially when there’s an adorable little pup involved!! I’m such a dog person (& animal person in general!) and so I always love getting to meet my client’s pets. Eventually we lucked out after moving the session to Fort Langley Village with a beautiful day that gave us a gorgeous golden hour and glowy sunset engagement session for these two!!
I had so much fun exploring with them! We started our adventure by wandering down to the Fort Langley Community Hall. Any Riverdale or Once Upon a Time fans out there? You’ll recognize the historic yellow building from quite a few episodes as well as being in featured in other tv shows. We lucked out with a British bus there as well so of course we took advantage of it! From there, we headed down to check out the old CN Train Station in Fort Langley. This is one of my favourite locations around Langley – the sun filters into this spot SO beautifully! After that, we decided to finish up our session down by the water and among the beautiful spring blossoms. I loved getting to know these two more as we explored!
I can’t wait to capture their wedding this fall. Here’s a look at my curated favourites from our time together during their Fort Langley Sunset Engagement!

Amelia & Lawrence were married two weeks ago on Saturday on a beautiful August day. I’ve been excited for these two to celebrate their marriage since our first coffee consult last Spring and got even more anxious for it at their engagement session at the start of summer. After hearing all about their plans for their reception to treat their guests with, I was left on pins & needles waiting for their wedding. These two are so special together. They have such a tender, gentle, & kind-hearted love and relationship with each other. There is a mutual respect that they share for each other and their faith and I love watching their relationship blossom in front of the camera.
Their day started in Abbotsford and New West respectively. Hannah was documenting Lawrence and the guys getting ready and I was in Abbotsford with Amelia & her lovely ladies. Fun fact – did you know Hannah & I shoot almost all of our weddings with each other? We love getting to work together and it’s so amazing knowing you are working with someone who has your back, cares about you and your business and is there for you. Back to the wedding though, after getting ready we all headed out to the ceremony location at Living Waters Church in Fort Langley, BC. What a beautiful church and the interior is so beautifully lit – while photographers go nuts over natural light, I couldn’t have asked for a better indoor ceremony location! After a touching service (which was a little more eventful than we all thought ;)) and family photos wrapped up, we all headed out for bridal portraits in and around Fort Langley & Derby Reach (that barn never gets old, and man did these guys make it look good!).
Afterwards, we all headed over to Fort Langley Golf Course for their reception. I cannot say enough about the amazing event staff at this venue. I was at the golf course for another wedding the week before and both times they blew us away with their kindness and hospitality. Now I’ve been telling you guys about the plans these two had for their reception and it did NOT disappoint. From sitar & tabla players, a caricaturist, traditional Russian singers & dancers, belly dancer, and a bharatanatyam dancer which had to be my favourite performance of the whole night. Through the simplistic but precise careful movements along with the emotion the dancer expressed both through facial expressions and her motions left me feeling moved and completely caught up in the story she was telling through her dance. It was a night filled with dance and activity, and naturally it ended (for us, though the party carried on after we left) with Amelia & Lawrence’s first dance as well. I loved watching them steal away a few quiet moments during the dance and it was the perfect way to end the day.
A big congratulations again to you two, Lawrence & Amelia, you make a lovely couple and Hannah & I both wish you nothing but the best. Thank you for having Meg Kristina Photography be a part of capturing your day.
